KBF 2020: NOVASTON on the growth of the construction industry in Serbia
At this year's 27th Kopaonik Business Forum, March 1-4, among more than 1,300 participants, Mia Zecevic CEO of Novaston will talk about the growth of the construction industry in Serbia.
“Statistically speaking, when it comes to business premises and logistics, the capitals in the region are better positioned compared to Belgrade. We have already started to develop in these areas and this will become evident in the upcoming period, although the retail segment remains our primary focus, ”says Mia Zecevic.
Generally speaking, all sectors (retail, office, logistics and residential) show significant improvement and growth. In the retail sector, we are expecting the opening of two large shopping centers - BW Gallery and Beo SC, which will bring Belgrade closer to other capitals in the region, as the parameter of retail space per 1,000 inhabitants will reach the level of c. 300 m2.
“Intensive development, especially in the area of New Belgrade, is crucial to the office space sector. The construction of more than 10 significant office buildings is currently underway, after which the percentage of non-rented space will be increased from the current 4-5% to 6-9%. The largest number of newly built square meters in 2020 is expected in the logistics sector, and the construction of the largest logistics center in Serbia by CTP Invest is underway. The residential sector is in constant expansion - the number of projects under construction, supply, demand, the price per square meter is growing, even old construction is seeing a rise in demand and price per square meter, ”said Mladen Mladenovic, Lead Senior Business Associate at Novaston Asset Management.
Besides Mia Zecevic CEO of Novaston, the panel will also attended by Robert Yahav CEO of BIG CEE, Mustafa Keriba, Deputy CEO and Director of Asset Management & Investment Solutions, ADFG, and Pedja Petronijevic, CEO of GTC, while Nebojsa Nesovanovic, Senior Director, Head of Assessments in SEE Region, CBRE will lead the panel.
